Country music songwriters for George Strait, Garth Brooks steals the show in Houston

What: Avondale House “Hear Our Voices, Evening Embracing Autism”

PC time: Authors-composers-performers Phillip White, Brice Long and Marla Cannon Goodman arrived from their home in Nashville to entertain themselves with songs they had written for the likes of Garth Brooks, George Strait, Chris Stapleton, Hank Williams Jr, Randy Houser, Josh Turner and Reba McEntire. They intertwined their songs with the stories behind them.

It was a brilliant conclusion to the evening which raised $185,000 for Avondale House, which provides people with autism with the resources, education and training to reach their full potential.

“Tonight as we celebrate our work and pay tribute to a few people who are also working to support people with autism,” said the CEO of Avondale House. Steve Vetrano said, “We hope that more people will come to join us as partners in the important and meaningful work that Avondale House is doing to support people with autism and their families who love them.”

The evening in the spotlight Dr Peter HotezDean of the National School of Tropical Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine, as an Honorary Physician and Amy Pierceas a Community Advocate honoree., which won applause. Kaitlin Monte of Fox 26 served as the glamorous emcee.
