Tamworth Country Music Festival confirms stellar lineup for April

Tamworth Country Music Festival organizers have confirmed a stellar lineup for the rescheduled 50th anniversary event in April.

Festival director Barry Harley has made the “difficult, but necessary” decision to postpone the event for a week from the January date.

“Although some were disappointed with our decision to postpone the festival, many artists have confirmed that they will be back and ready to roll in April to celebrate the festival’s 50th anniversary,” he said.

“All the big names will return, including ARIA Hall of Fame inductee Kasey Chambers, country music legends Troy Cassar-Daley, Lee Kernaghan and John Williamson, as well as Adam Harvey, Beccy Cole , Sara Storer & James Blundell, famed songwriter Graeme Connors. , Felicity Urquhart & Josh Cunningham and fan favorite Fanny Lumsden.

From Monday, April 18 through Sunday, April 24, seven free evenings of entertainment will take place at Toyota Park, from the Monday Night Opening Concert and the Toyota Star Maker Grand Finale to the spectacular Back to the Bush and Americana in the Park.

There will also be special guest performances throughout the week.

“We still have a lot to celebrate and the April leg of our 50th anniversary event will provide a similar festival experience, with buskers, free concerts in famous Toyota Park, the Golden Guitar Awards and some of the biggest names Australian country music. said Mr. Harley.

“For every concert at Toyota Park, the Country Club will be fully operational, providing festival-goers with a VIP experience, with access to the only authorized area of ​​the park and an exclusive opportunity to mingle with some of the stars performing the night.”

Organizers have also confirmed that the 2022 Toyota Golden Guitar Awards will take place on Wednesday, April 20.

“I can also confirm that the 50th Anniversary Concert will take place on Thursday, April 21, with an all-star lineup at the Tamworth Regional Entertainment Conference Center (TRECC),” Mr. Harley said.

“We are also delighted to announce that the Toyota Busking Championships will be back in April, along with the Toyota Fanzone stage which will start at 9am daily, giving festival-goers the chance to experience personal performances from their favorite artists up close. including Fanny Lumsden, Amber Lawrence and the Bushwackers.

When planning rescheduled events, organizers are working with Support Act.

“There has been a significant impact on the live music industry over the past two years, and we understand that the postponement of the Festival to just one week from its scheduled start date has been another blow to the industry, so we want to support those affected as much as we can during these difficult times,” Harley said.
