The Barrow Classical Music Foundation launches a series of concerts

Classical musicians from all over the world will visit Barrow to show off their talent.

Thanks to a successful fundraising campaign led by pastor and accomplished pianist Emmanuel Gribben, the church recently acquired a Yamaha grand piano and wasted no time putting it to good use.

The new Barrow Classical Music Foundation will present a variety of concerts, the first being an evening of songs from across Europe and China performed by the mighty mezzo-soprano Yating Hu.

Yating is from Anhui province in eastern China and studied voice at the Xinghai Conservatory of Music (China), Musikschule Ettlingen (Germany) and most recently at the Royal Birmingham Conservatory (UK). United). She will be accompanied by pianist Ling-ling Yu, who recently moved to Barrow to help promote live classical music in the town.

The concert will take place at 7 p.m. on Monday, October 3 at St Mary’s Catholic Church, Duke Street. Admission is free with donations going towards musicians and the development of future events.
