After having to cancel a country music event last year due to COVID-19, the Wahoo Fish House in Murrells Inlet is essentially doubling this year.

The restaurant and bar, located on the MarshWalk, host a two-day event featuring eight groups on Saturday and Sunday. The free music event begins at 7 p.m. on Saturday and 3 p.m. on Sunday.

Saturday’s lineup includes the Winchesters, Gary Alexander Band and Josh Brannon Band, while Sunday will feature If Birds Could Fly, Clay Page, Kevin Nichols, Thomas Road Band and Warrick McZeke.

“Since the pandemic happened in 2020 and we had to cancel Wahoo’s Country Jam, I’ve decided to make the fourth country a two-day, even with fantastic lineup,” said Tony Jarvis, bartender at Wahoo’s who also coordinate entertainment and events there. .

Music will take place at the venue’s Tiki Bar.

This is the fourth major musical event hosted by Jarvis, having previously hosted a pair of country music festivals and a songwriter showcase in 2019. The lineup includes names well known to the region and a few newcomers such as the Windchesters and If Birds could Fly.

“We have great local talent and great talent from out of town,” Jarvis said.

Wahoo’s will sell t-shirts and koozies and offer special food and drinks during the event.
